Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF)

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a 100% natural and autologous solution created using a slow centrifuge concept. PRF preserves the vitality of cells that are undamaged, allowing considerably more platelets, White Blood Cells (WBCs) and even Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) to be obtained, maximizing growth factor stimulation. The plasma clots into fibrin allowing for a much slower release of the growth factor and cytokines for a longer period of time. This concentrated source of growth factors aid in the healing process of damaged tissue and promote cell regeneration.

How does it work?

Promote hair re-growth in cases of alopecia, baldness or thinning hair when injected into the scalp.

How is PRF obtained?

Blood is drawn from your arm, in the same way you would have a regular blood test. The drawn blood is placed in a centrifuge for 5 to 10 minutes. This equipment spins the blood at low speed to separate the lighter plasma from the rest of contents of the blood. This isolated platelet rich fibrin is is injected into the skin or treatment area, which will increase collagen production and have other healing effects.

How many treatments do I need?

Minimum of 3-5 treatments, 3-4 weeks apart. Other hair stimulating medications will be required and added to your protocol for optimal results.

What and when can I expect results?

You will start to notice a change in your skin a few weeks after the treatment.

Who is the ideal candidate for PRF Hair Restoration?

The best results are seen with people who are in the early stages of thinning hair, who still have active or somewhat active follicles but they are not producing as much hair.

Who Cannot Have a PRF treatment?

Persons with severe skin disease, cancer, chemotherapy, metabolic and systemic disorders, and abnormal platelet function (i.e. blood disorders). Anti-coagulation therapy, sepsis HIV, some auto immune diseases.

Will PRF work for inactive follicles ?

PRF has been shown to reactive inactive follicles over time in some patients, you may just need more treatments than someone whose follicles are still somewhat active. Results are not guaranteed.
